Moroccan Rugs & Poufs

Buying a vintage rug or pouf is an investment. We understand that it’s helpful to actually see a rug in your space before committing to owning it forever. That’s why we offer exchanges or refunds within 7 days of delivery date. Please see below for more detailed info regarding returns. Any questions about our textiles, their origins, how we source or how to care for your new rug or pouf, please contact us at any time.

Our rugs are hand washed and repaired in Morocco before being shipped to Manipura. Any restorations required are done by hand by skilled artisans in the traditional method and with materials that highlight its origins.

Rugs should be vacuumed regularly and can be hung outside in the sunshine and fresh air to freshen them up and get rid of any loose dirt. You can use soapy water to spot clean. Highly recommend against using chemical cleaners—keep it simple. If your rug is really dirty it can be professionally cleaned.

The delicate wool and natural dyes will fade over time in direct sunlight, and with normal wear and age.

A few options for stuffing your Manipura Moroccan pouf….

Environmentally conscious materials are always preferred and are usually the most cost friendly too!

1. Up-cycled fabric and cotton

This is the method used most by Moroccan families and our preferred way too. It creates a super comfortable, heavy and structured feel to your cushion. You can use old clothing, sheets, blankets, or towels.

2. Pillows and cushions

If you have any old pillows or cushions, that works great!

3. Upholstery stuffing/materials such as recycled wool felt or coconut fiber.

If your placing your rug on hardwood flooring or a concrete surface, you may want to consider a non-slip rug pad for underneath your rug as they can be slippery without.
