Ashwagandha root can be ground to form a powder which can be tinctured, added to culinary recipes, or encapsulated. Ashwagandha is native to India where it grows in the wild. It is a highly revered botanical used in Ayurveda and is praised for its adaptogenic and tonic properties. It is also used as an "adaptogen" to help the body cope with daily stress, and as a general tonic.
It is also used to reduce side effects of medications used to treat cancer and to reduce levels of fat and sugar in the blood.
Precautions: Not for use in pregnancy except under the supervision of a qualified healthcare practitioner. May reduce blood pressure or adversely react with blood pressure meds. Not recommended with thyroid medication.
